Need for increased investment in social services in Ottawa!

Every community in Ottawa deserves social services like accessible mental health counselling, playgroups that support child development, meals on wheels to help seniors stay independent longer, training programs for the unemployed, or social groups for youth.

These and many other social services are essential for community and individual wellbeing, but they are becoming less and less available because funding for these services has not kept pace with population growth and rising levels of demand.

Social services are in danger from being stretched too thin. We ask Mayor Jim Watson, and Ottawa City Councillors to contribute an additional $5M in funding to social services in Ottawa. Social services need to be a priority in our city!

Feel free to send the above to your councillor and please sign this petition and share with your contacts, so that we can let Ottawa City Council know that Social Services Matter!
